Outside Play on Earth Day at The Community Classroom!
Earth Day is Wednesday, April 22nd and we, the Outreach/Education team at Sola Gratia Farm, thought it would be fun to also celebrate opening day at The Community Classroom!
The Community Classroom is a public outdoor education, demonstration, and recreational garden space designed for learners of all ages. We are opening up the space to the public on Earth Day & will remain open daily from dawn till dusk throughout the growing season. All are welcome!
This is a FREE family-friendly event featuring:
Open access to our garden and play spaces (more info below)
Spring crop tastings
Fence picket painting - all pickets painted will be used to construct a fence at The Community Classroom!
Featured garden and play spaces at The Community Classroom 2026
Our garden beds feature a wide variety of growing techniques and seasonal crops. The Community Classroom demonstrates both traditional in ground and raised bed gardening in addition to uniquely designed growing spaces, such as:
Pallet flower patch
Sensory and mindfullness gardens
Pest management and companion planting demonstrations
Vertical gardening: tunnels, tipis, trellises, oh my!
Container gardening examples

The Community Classroom also features a variety of nature play-based spaces for folks of all ages, including:
Mud kitchens
Performance stage
Bean tipi & sunflower room - perfect for hide-and-seek!
